You live alone as an obese virgin in your tiny four-and-a-half mat shoebox of an apartment, which is itself a disused relic of a bygone era. Your libido is incredible, but with no cash and no credit, you can’t afford to clean yourself up, let alone afford the services of the ladies of the night. Every night, you get home exhausted. You eat, if only for the nourishment, and then collapse to sleep like a pile of mud on the floor. Every morning you wake up, and do it again. Your room is a mess that you never clean up, a reflection of the desolation in your heart. Still, you never snap: You hold it together, in a twisted subversion of your gentle nature. As long as you don’t try to get from the base to the top as the crow flies, you’ll get a couple of hours of extremely enjoyable and lighthearted game play which involves small fetch quests, races, fishing and treasure hunts. Traversing the game world never feels dull or slow, the characters and dialogue are funny, the visuals are gorgeous and can be set from retro pixels to smooth art and the music is absolutely perfect. Honestly one of the best games i’ve ever played! I was entranced by the view done in this retro pixely style, the subtle little details and colours made me very happy!! A little grindy in the end but was very worth it. I definitely need more games like this in the future!
