Worth it alone for Co-op Survival Mode. Insurgency Sandstorm is an Arcade tactical shooter. If you want to feel like a delta force operator, this game scratches that itch. It is not as shallow as CoD where you run in small circles all match, but it is not an open sandbox like Battlefield either. The weapon handling and gameplay features some of the most satisfying combat on the market, right alongside Escape From Tarkov. The sound design is incredible and elevates the game above and beyond any other modern shooter. The intensity and chaos of gunfights is overwhelming, and is immensely rewarding to play. Insurgency Sandstorm has the best game play mechanics of any shooter I’ve played. The Realistic ballistic physics and free-aim hip-fire in this game are masterfully implemented. They make the game deeper and more skillful than the tired, lazy mechanics that have become the industry standard. You might think that it would make the game less friendly to new players but you’d be wrong. The game plays fairly intuitively for anyone used to FPS and when you’re used to how it plays you’ll find it significantly more satisfying than any other FPS on the market.
