About Garden Tower Defense:
I was somewhat skeptical of Garden Paws when I first picked it up, but I have to say I’ve really fallen in love with it. It’s not the most polished game and it can be pretty grindy, but something about it for me really puts it up there with the likes of Stardew Valley and Slime Rancher. It’s a much bigger game than it might seem at first. There’s a ton of content but it gets rolled out slowly as you perform quests and time passes. I was really impressed by the degree to which the game gradually provides various conveniences/automation to speed things up and give you more time to explore and try new things. The game is also very chill with basically no consequences for passing out or anything. You can build your own house, bridges across difficult terrain, or your very own sky fortress and it’s awesome seeing the land gradually transform at your hands. There’s also a tool for shifting things into the precise place you want it for the OCD among us. On the other hand a lot of the building pieces don’t fit together as neatly as I’d like and most things don’t snap together automatically very well, which can make building somewhat tedious. At the end of the day though this is just a super cute game and a fun world to explore. You can glide around Breath-of-the-Wild style as any cute animal you could dream of while running a farm or fishing or doing quests. I’m pretty picky when it comes to casual games and I was super happy to discover a new one that scratched the same itch as Stardew has. Highly recommend checking it out.
