About Blood Moon The Tycoon:
The premise is pretty cool, I don’t think I’ve ever played a game where you’re trying to kill dreams. The story/setting definitely needs some more fleshing out though. I started the game before reading the store page, and it wasn’t immediately clear to me that I was fighting dreams. It definitely needs some more context. Overall the art is pretty good, it’s got a kind of cutesy look to it that really works well with the main ideas of the game. And the main character (can someone please tell me what kind of bird it’s supposed to be) looks menacing enough to sell the idea that you don’t fit in. It works well. The different levels have different themes, you start off in bedroom themed levels before moving on to forests, a weird musical desert and the farthest I’ve gotten is underwater. There’s some nice variety and the levels are all randomly generated, so it feels different on each run. The level variety is good, and it ties in nicely with the enemy variety. Each level has certain enemies, which are (for the most part) unique to that level. The enemy variety is pretty good, some enemy types have variations within them (such as three different kinds of weird flying teddy bears). There’s a variety of attacks too, some enemies are exclusively melee, and they’ll rush at you to try and kill you. Other enemies will shoot you from a distance. There’s a few unique ones in there too, as well as at least one boss.
