About Arcade Island X:
I feel like the people not recommending are missing the point, yes it’s free, it includes like 1 game, but it’s just like the Sega Mastersystem/Genesis mega collection which is also on steam. It’s a way for you to officially play certain Capcom classics, yes you have to pay 2$ USD for each game, but that’s pretty cheap if you just want a few games to play. You can choose between different games, cabinets, 3d mode which shows the arcade cabinet or 2d mode which is like a normal game. you have orientation selectors incase you want to rotate your monitor to put it in an actual cabinet for your shoot em’ ups. it also features a rewind feature so if youre looking for a more casual experience, you wont have to do the level all over again this would be a great collection of capcom arcade games, but the really gimmicky and unintuitive menus really kill it for me. im personally completely fine with the monetization in the collection, buy what you wanna play, but the whole 3d cabinet does not jive with me, and not being able to change it at all hurts the experience for me. its also lacking many extra features that made collections like these from past console generations so endearing and interesting. if you can stand the menus and dont care about this extra stuff though, this is a great collection of great games, and you only have to pay for the ones you wanna play. for people like me though, you’re better off emulating these games in the emulator of your choice.
